TPS61088: When soak test, the output voltage drops and can recover after power cycle

Part Number: TPS61088

Tool/software:

Hi TI teams,

We used TPS61088RHLR to convert 5V to 7V. When my customer did soak test, the output suddenly drop to 4.4V after 3 days and can recover after power  cycle. This issue happened twice, the second time was 7 days later. The schematic is in the above. Because we don't receive the product, we can't do further testing. I found 4 related topics in the forum, but none of them have been concluded. I want to know these four topics if they have found the cause of the problem.

  • Hi He,

    Thank you for collecting the messages.

    TPS61088 faces such problem before.

    For most cases, the abnormal happens in high temperature and complex external environment,

    The abnormal is hard to repeat and very

    we think it is due to bad layout and external disturbance in high temperature.

    Here we have some suggestions:

    1. Please send the board to us and we can try to repeat the abnormal;

    2. change the mode to FPWM, (connect Mode to GND), this may reduce the impact of interference

    3. change to TPS61088-Q1, the AEC-Q100 qualified device is more stable against interference.

    Best Regards,

    Fergus
