BQ27426: chem ID

Part Number: BQ27426
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: GPCCHEM

Tool/software:

Hello Sir

If we use bq27426 with cell voltage is 4.45V, is this doable? what chem IC we could use?

  • Hello,

You should use the GPCCHEM tool to ensure that the chemID you are wishing to use is a good match for the cells that you are using. The link to the GPCCHEM tool I have provided has a a user's guide for how to use the tool.

    Regards,

    Jonny.

From spec description, bq27426 can't be programmed with specific battery chemistry proile. Three pre-defined chemistry profile are available in the device memory. So if we use GPCCHEM tool to have new chemistry profile, can we load in this new battery chemistry profile?

  • Hello,

No, you can only load one of the three chemIDs onto the gauge. The GPCCHEM tool will give you a report when you are finished with the tool. In this report there will be a section that tells you how good of a match your cell is with the three chemIDs.

    Regards,

    Jonny.
