BQ27Z561EVM-011: About creating golden files

Part Number: BQ27Z561EVM-011

Tool/software:

About creating golden files
I am creating golden files using Battery Management Studio.
What exactly should I enter for each setting item in Data Memory?
Please tell me the items and settings.
Also, if the battery voltage drops (to 3.1V) during a discharge test, a communication error occurs and Battery Management Studio crashes.
Why does this happen?
Is there a way to fix this?

What does ”Term Voltage ”mean?
Is it the final discharge voltage?
The settings I am currently changing are listed below.

Please let me know if there are any other items that are necessary.

Problem

When I checked on the actual device, it did not reach 100%.

Thanks and regards
Kugimoto

  • Hello Kugimoto,

Do you mean the parameters under the Settings menu? Most of these parameters are for enabling or disabling FET protections, failures and IT configurations and would depend on the individual use case.

For the Temperature Mode and Temperature Enable parameters, set these values according to the thermistor you are using. For instance, if you are using the TS1 thermistor, clear TS1 mode to Cell Temperature mode and set all other TSn modes.

Similarly, set the TS1 bit under Temperature Enable and clear all other bits.

The SOC Config flags determine when the gauge would update the FC flag. MFG Status Init can be used enable gauging and FETs.

    2. For this error, check if you are logging the registers too fast. Ideally, you should have a 1s delay so bqStudios doesn't crash. You can go to the preferences tab to change the logging interval.

    3. Term Voltage is the empty pack voltage where the gauge ensures that the SoC is at 0%. You can find this value in the cell manufacturer datasheet.

    Regards,
