BQ77905: Temperature sensing in BQ77905

Part Number: BQ77905

Tool/software:

Hi,

How is Over-temperature sensing working in this IC. I thought it would have been a simple voltage divider with supply voltage at VTB and sensing at TS. But it doesn't seems like it is working like this.

I bought an EVM and tried measuring voltage between VTB and GND like shown below and voltage reading was Zero and yet the IC did not Fault.

Is it possible that VTB is Zero. Is there a scenario where VTB can go to Zero ? I can see from functional Diagram that there is some kind of control logic which can turn this voltage OFF, referring to this -

Context for asking: I have incorporated this IC in our design and that IC is faulting at both CHG and DSG and i can't figure out why this IC is faulting right now. My suspicion is on OTD. CHG and DSG both fault at only OW and Over-temperature fault according to datasheet and i have checked that voltage at the input pins is good.

Thanks
