BQ21080: What is the minimum voltage threshold for the TS/MR pin of BQ21080 in response to long pressing the external power button to exit ship mode

Part Number: BQ21080

Tool/software:

Dear TI Engineer,

We are wondering what is the minimum voltage threshold for the TS/MR pin of BQ21080 in response to long pressing the external power button to exit ship mode. That is, what the voltage of TS/MR pin is pulled down to by an external button, will it be considered that the external button is pressed?

The voltage drop of the diode in the figure is around 0.3V. When the Power_SON signal is long pressed to 0V and the QONB signal voltage is 0.3V, can BQ21080 exit the ship mode mode?

Thanks,

Kind Regards

  • Hi,

The maximum voltage threshold to detect a button press on TSMR is 90 mV so the 0.3V won't necessarily be detected as a button press. Instead, I recommend a pull-down FET driven by your control signal.
