TPS23731: What is different point between TPS23731 and TPS23734?

Part Number: TPS23731
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS23734, , TPS23730

Tool/software:

Hello guys,

One of my customers is considering using TPS23731 or TPS23734 for their next products.

At this moment, they have the following questions. Could you please give me your reply?

Q1.
What is different point between TPS23731 and TPS23734?
Is it the regulation method and AFC support? I think TPS23731 uses the primary side detections, no ACF support and TPS23734 uses the second side regulation and ACF support.

Q2.
TPS23734 datasheet says on page 3 that this device can support ACF.
Can I have any document about this ACF?

Q3.
Is there any newer device of PoE PD controller than TPS23731/734?

Your reply would be much appreciated.

Best regards,
Kazuya.

  • Hi Kazuya,

    Thanks for reaching out.

You can consider TPS23734 includes all TPS23731's function (including PSR), and in additionally TPS23734 can make active clamping forward converter design.

You can check the ACF document via (https://www.ti.com/lit/an/slua535a/slua535a.pdf)

Currently TPS23730/1/4 are newest production PoE PD. Please see the advantages of using TPS23731/4 compared with other TI's 25.5W PoE PD chips.
