BQ77307: Saving data memory between power cycles.

Tool/software:

I have a BQ77307 integrated for a 4S LiPo battery. In order to get this configuration to work I needed to change the Data Memory values of the Vcell Mode and Short Circuit in Discharge Protection Threshold. However when I disconnect and reconnect power to the device it returns to default settings. Is there a way to permanently write this configuration to the device?

Hello Evelyn,

There is no OTP for this device, so you will always have to have a MCU reprogram it. We do have other devices that offer those capabilities though.

What is the procedure for writing to the Data Memory of the device over I2C?

Hello Evelyn,

The BQ7690x Software Development Guide can give you more specific procedures on how to write to the Data Memory of the device over I²C as the process is the same. Please make sure to refer to Chapter 8 I²C Serial Communications and Chapter 10 Data Memory in the BQ77307 Technical Reference Manual, for information on the specific bits and commands/subcommands for the BQ77303 though.
