BQ24770: End of charge

Part Number: BQ24770

Tool/software:

Hi,

I do not find in your datasheet how to know when the battery is full of charge? We need to maintain 90% of full charge to preserve our battery. The only way I have found is to acquire through ADC (on our microcontroller) the battery voltage and use the watchdog to stop charging.

Our battery is 3S2P 18650 11.1V/6.9Ah.

Thank you in advance,

  • Hello Vanni,

The BQ24770 does not have charge termination. The host or gauge in the system is intended to measure the current and handle termination. When battery is full or battery is not in good condition to charge, host terminates charge by setting 0x12[0] to 1, or setting ChargeCurrent() to zero.

    Best Regards,

    Christian
