TPS54202: TPS54202 Power supply with 22uH and 3.9uH inductor

Part Number: TPS54202

Tool/software:

Hello Team,

I'm using the TPS54202 in my design to step down 12V to 5V (1A).

Now, I want to reuse the same IC for a new power requirement: stepping down 12V to 3.3V (1A).

This 3.3V output will power a micro-controller and some sensor applications.

In the existing design, the inductor used is 22µH (Isat - 1.7A). Can I use the same inductor with a modification to the feedback resistor to get 3V3?

When I simulate in Power Bench, it suggests using a 3.9µH inductor.

My question is, what will be the impact if I continue using the 22µH inductor instead of the 3.9µH for the 3.3V output?
