TLV713: TLV71310PQDBVRQ1

Part Number: TLV713

Tool/software:

Hello

I am using TLV71310PQDBVRQ1, to generate 1.0V from 1.8V, when i put a bead between the VIN and 1.8V, the max output current only 130mA, after remove the bead the output current can reach 150mA.

the bead part number is: BLM15AG601SH1D, with bead the VIN pin voltage is a little lower, but still above 1.7V, do u know why the bead affect max current?

thanks

Bruce

  • Hi Bruce,

    Thank you for your question.

Please allow me 1-2 business days to get an answer back to you.

    Best,

    Hannah

  • Hi Bruce,

What frequency is the system being used at? At different frequencies the ferrite bead acts either inductive, resistive, or capacitive. This may be why you are seeing a choke on the current.

Please let me know when you have a moment.

    Thank you,

    Hannah

  • Hi Hannah

I used CC mode to load, even like a choke, no reason to affect max current

    Thanks

    Bruce

  • Hi Bruce,

Where are you sensing the current at?

Try measuring the current right before the ferrite bead.

Also try measuring the voltage drop across the ferrite bead.

There is going to be a voltage drop across the ferrite bead. There is current moving across the ferrite bead, so the circuit is going to act like a resistor divider.

I'm assuming this may be why you are seeing less current after the ferrite bead.

    Best,

    Hannah
