Hello,

In reading the BQ79631EVM Evaluation Module User's Guide (Feb/2021), section 4.1.4 Software, we read:

"The software provides a command API and drivers that are capable of implementing the examples provided in
BQ79631-Q1 Software Design Reference."

Could you please advise on how to obtain the documentation "BQ79631-Q1 Software Design Reference" listed above?

    Hi John,

    I checked with my team and we do not have BQ79631 sample code. You can use the BQ79616-Q1 sample code instead, communication should work fine but you will need to update the register file as I am not sure that all register address values for BQ79631 will be available.

    Additionally, is there a reason why you are not evaluating our BQ79731-Q1 instead? This is a newer generation of the device with additional features and enhanced performance.

    Hi Abigail,

    Thank you for your reply. So, it looks like what we read in the BQ79631EVM User's Guide (SLUUCC3, Feb/2021) is not accurate, where it referred to "BQ79631-Q1 Software Design Reference" and "BQ79631-Q1 Example Code 0.1 Installer.exe", correct? This is in section 4.1.4 Software of the document. It is ok, if that is the case, and the BQ79616 sample code can simply be revised slightly for driving the BQ79631. I have already requested the access and be granted the right, hence I also downloaded it.

    Also, it is interesting that you mentioned BQ79731, which has not come up in our communications so far with the TI team (I believe). Could you please point me to the datasheet and other info on BQ79731?
