TPSM843B22E: TI SPICE Netlist Problem

Part Number: TPSM843B22E
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPSM843B22

Tool/software:

Hello:

I am trying my first TI PSPICE simulation with the new TPSM843E (the models for the "843" family were just added to TI PSPICE yesterday).  However, upon trying to run the simulation I get a failure to netlist error.  The session file says this:

Below I attach a Zip file with the DSN, opj, and png files for the circuit.

Can you provide any advice?

Thanks,

Farron

  • The files in the .zip are blank for me.    Try the pspice test bench from the TPSM843B22  product folder https://www.ti.com/lit/zip/slum896

  • Hi David:

OK, I tried the example, and it does run.  It can be adapted to the exact circuit I was planning and still runs.  However, after adding parasitic resistance and inductance to the output capacitor bank to simulate realistic ripple, it will only run for 100us to 200us before the simulation freezes up.

It is also quite a slow simulation, as in about 70us of operational time per minute of simulation time on a 3.9 GHz 8 core PC.  At that rate a 5ms sim would take over an hour, if it would run.  I have read that Cadence has adapted PSPICE for about a 5x improvement in previous simulation speed, but it still seems pretty slow.

    Thanks,

    Farron

  • Can you share your new project?   You can send on via the e2e mail, if you do not want the files public.   We can check the freezing and speed of the test bench on our system.
