We are having issues getting the power supply to come up to +12V. Here is the schematic:

The supply only comes up to 4.5 volts - we notice a note in the datasheet which mentions dropout if less than 5.8 volts. What does the datasheet mean?

Our supply is 4.5V in, can we get 12 volts?

Hi Brent,

The TPSM63604 is a buck converter. Buck converters operate such that a high input voltage is regulated/stepped down to a lower output voltage. Buck converters cannot support an output voltage that is higher than the input voltage.

If you are looking for a way to turn a 5 VIN into a 12 VOUT, you need to utilize a boost converter. I will move you to the appropriate team to comment on which boost converter can be recommended for your application.
