LV5144: LV5144 vs LM5146-Q1

Part Number: LV5144
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5146-Q1, , LM5145, LM25145, LM5146

Tool/software:

Hi All,

I was planning to use earlier LM5146-Q1 for my DC-DC buck design.

Just came across LV5144 - looks like it is exact pin to pin replacement - except 3 major differences.

Vin max for LV5144 is 95 Volts, Vin max for LM5146-Q1 is 100 Volts.

Ioutmax for LV5144 is 20 A, Ioutmax for LM5146-Q1 is 30 A.

LV5144 is way cheaper than LM5146-Q1.

I have 3 designs - 10 A/20A/30A .

Can you please confirm if I wont be able to use LV5144 for 30 A?

if LV5144 and LM5146-Q1 are 99 percent similar - can LM5144 be used for 30 A also?

Really appreciate your guidance and support.

Thanks

Sahil

  • Hi Sahil,

Yes, it's the same controller family. We also have the LM5145 and LM25145 with 75V and 42V max Vin, respectively. Don't worry about the output current spec - that is purely dependent on the power stage.

Note if you don't need automotive, we also have the LM5146 100V version. The LM5145-Q1 and LM5146-Q1 are the automotive parts within the family.

    Regards,

    Tim
