BQ79654-Q1: Unable to communicate with the BQ97654 IC using UART

Part Number: BQ79654-Q1

Tool/software:

Hey i am using the BQ79654 IC for SOC and SOH management
On the datasheet it is mentioned that the LDOIN pin should be around 6V. But after measuring the voltage it is around 4.8V
I have made the same connections as per the Dev board with the same NPN transistor ZXTN4004KQTC. I think because of this i am unable to communicate with the IC
Can anyone please confirm this hypothesis of mine
Thanks in advance

  • Hello Sameer,

Yes, this voltage does seem abnormally low.

If you are following the EVM configuration and the same components, then we should not expect an issue.

Is this your own board, or are you using one of our devices?

I'm assuming the device in shutdown? LDOIN may be lower in shutdown, but it expected to be a steady 6V in active mode.

    Best,

         Quentin
