BQ51050B: Next model of this product

Part Number: BQ51050B
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ51013C,

Tool/software:

Hi all,

I am looking for the next model of this product.

1) Is there a next model of this product?

And will I get sufficient support when I use this device?

The required specifications are as follows.

[Required Specifications]

I would like to charge 1 cell Li-ion battery Qi.

Output 5 W (=4.2 V/1.2 A)

I want to connect directly to the battery.

2) I think we exchange signals at AC1.

I understand that EVM's C14,C15, and C16 are connected to suppress voltage fluctuation at that time.

10uF is recommended, but is there any problem if we add C14,15, and 16 constants to suppress signal change more?

Best Regards,

Ryusuke

  • Hi Ryusuke-san,

    Please see my comments below.

    1) No, we do not have a newer version of the BQ51050B. Although we are set to release to market the BQ51013C by the end of the year and it is compliant to latest WPC v2.0 standard. Please be aware the BQ51013C is a 5W wireless receiver only and does not have integrated battery charger like the BQ51050B.

    2) TI recommendation is to connect between 4.7uF and 22uF at RECT therefore, it is okay to add C15 and C16 (10uF + 0.1uF) in addition to initial 10uF capacitor.

    Best Regards,

    Garrett
