TPS22950: Reverse current block.

Hi TI Power Switch Guru,

I am looking at an alternative for diode + PMOS and thus looking at TPS22950 for an wearable bidirectional charge and discharge application That requires current lim and reverse blocking in both directions until commanded.

As you can see in this example schematic, i have a Regulated output leg, a bypass leg to output directly from VSYS, and a charging leg for TPS22950.

VOUT could be lower or higher than VSYS.

Do you foresee any issues with this approach?

Hi!

This should be fine. I am assuming, your primary concern is the reverse current. The charging leg should always block any reverse current since its Vout - Vin > 44mV.

so if

VIN=3V
VOUT 1.5V -> 5V rising edge, actually the middle switch will experience reverse current.

Hi!

This continuous reverse current shouldn't happen because Vout - Vin will become greater than 44mV very quickly and should start reverse current blocking.

As I mentioned in my other post, I will verify this at my end also. While testing I will verify for this test condition also.
