UCC27517: Schematic and functional verification.

I am using UCC27517DBVR in a low side configuration to drive 6 NMOSFETs (AOTL66912) used as a switch for a Battery Protection board. Requesting the team to verify if the schematic is okay. DSG_CTRL is connected a MCU GPIO and the idea is that if the GPIO is driven high (to 3.3V), the MOSFETs open and the path breaks. Please also verify if the IC will be able to drive all the 6 MOSFETs comfortably. If the full schematic is required, I can share via private message.

Hi Abhijith,

Yes, you can use the UCC27517 as an inverting output, where the output is low when input is high. All gate drivers can be used to drive multiple FETs in parallel, but please keep in mind that the drive strength will be lowered for each additional FET that is driven; this would affect the switching speed of FETs.

Your gate driver design looks good to me. If possible, I would place a small filter on the IN- pin to filter out any potential noise that would couple back into the input. A resistor value between 10-100Ohms and a capacitor value between 10-100pF would suffice.

Just want to bring to you attention that I will be switching the load statically. So the IN- pin won't be a PWM signal. Also the IN- pin is connected to GPIO pin of an MCU and the high voltage will be 3.3V. Can you once again confirm if these conditions are okay?
