TPSI3052: Temporary VDDP switch-off in TPSI3052

Part Number: TPSI3052

Tool/software:

Hello,

I have a question about the behavior of the VDDP supply in the TPSI3052. Would it be possible to switch the VDDP off for short periods, while keeping the Enable pin high and still get VDRV high on the secondary side as long as the VDDM/VDDH capacitors have charge? If so, can you confirm that the power transfer of the integrated transformer will not be working at all during this state (temporary VDDP off)? Is the 89MHz carrier being transferred however during this state? This use case is very relevant for my application.

Thanks,

Javier

  • Hello Javier,

Thank you for reaching out. We are looking into this and will get back to you within 24hrs.

    Best regards,

    Hussain

  • Hello Javier,

If VDDP is ramped down, VDRV will go low after with a timing of (300us typical) despite EN being held high as seen in this timing diagram:

Shortly after VDDP is driven low, VDDH capacitor will discharge and hence VDRV will be driven low as seen in the diagram. As far as power transfer through the integrated transformer and the presence of the 89MHz carrier, I will confirm the expected behavior and circle back.

    Best,

    Hussain
