TPS61088: Differences compared to TPS61088-Q1 and Using the TPS61088 EVM

Part Number: TPS61088
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: , , TPS61288,

Tool/software:

Hi TI,

I am looking for a power supply that can output about 4.5A at 9V with an input voltage range of 5V to 8.4V. I plugged these numbers into WEBENCH and the top suggested design uses the TPS61088QRHLRQ1

How does the TPS61088-Q1 compare to the regular TPS61088? Is it just the AEC-Q100 qualification?

Is the TPS61088EVM-677 appropriate to bench test the WEBENCH recommended design of the TPS61088QRHLRQ1?

Thanks in advance for the help

  • Hi oneil,

The device TPS61088,TPS61088-Q1 and TPS61288 are all fit for your application.

TPS61088-Q1 is AEC-Q100 qualification, and its current limit configuration is different from TPS61088.

Other than that, the two are same.

TPS61088Q1EVM-037 is the right EVM to test TPS61088-Q1.

TPS61088EVM-677 can be used but some parameters need to be modified like Rlim.

For TPS61288, it will get higher efficiency because of its lower Rdson and with smaller package. But its switching frequency and current limit are fixed.

    Best Regards,

    Fergus
