LM2674: Absolute Maximum Ratings

Part Number: LM2674

Tool/software:

Hi team,

The maximum switch voltage to ground is -1V. Does this mean that something like -2V is acceptable, but something like -0.1V is not?
Also, the Boost pin voltage is Vsw+8V, but in my measured circuit it was Vsw+10V.
Are there any possible problems or countermeasures?

Regards,
Ryu.

  • Hello

The negative rating means that voltages more negative than -1V may create a problem; such as -2V may be an issue.

The Vsw+8V rating is referring to voltages that are forced on the BOOST pin.  If the +10V you are measuring is real, it may not be too bad.

You will need to be very careful when measuring these voltages, since you may see more overvoltage than is actually occurring.

This may be due to the ground lead on your 'scope probe.  It is best to use the "tip-and-barrel"  method of measurement for these

high speed signals.  What is better is to use a fast differential probe.

Also, be sure that you have a good PCB layout.

    Thanks
