LMG3624: Protection Summary

Part Number: LMG3624

Tool/software:

Hi team,

May I know which protection is auto-retry when removing the fault state or latch-off protection? I saw below explanation and figure, I understand there are all categorized as auto-retry. What customer want is to turn on again without other inputs except for PWM into IN pin.

AUX UVLO: Auto-retry? (when AUX voltage is above the threshold, when PWM high incoming in IN pin, FET becomes turning on)

cycle-by-cycle current limit: Auto-retry? (when the limit is treipped, FET is soon to turn to off. When next cycle of PWM is incoming, FET becomes turning on as usual)

overtemperature protection: (only reported in /FLT pin) Auto-retry?

Regards,

Hayashi

  • Hi Hayashi,

Correct, UVLO, overcurrent protection, and overtemperature protection are not all auto-retry.

When AUX is above the UVLO positive-going threshold voltage and IN is high, the FET turns on.

When the overcurrent protection is tripped, and IN goes low, the OCP is reset. Then, when IN is high the FET will turn on.

When the junction remperature goes below the OTP negative-going threshold of 145C, the OTP is reset. Then, when IN is high, the FET will turn on.

    Thanks,

    John
