Hi team,

I measured the oscillation waveform of the SW pin at 17.6V input, and found that it exceeded the maximum rated value of -0.3V at the falling edge by 10ns and -4.9V at the peak.
Is there any problem with exceeding the absolute maximum rating if it is instantaneous?

Hello

With a duration of 10ns, there should be no issue with a large negative spike.

Be sure that you are measuring the switch node with a fast differential probe to ensure you are getting a correct measurement.

We do not have a definitive guideline. Spikes in the ns range are usually OK.
