TPS2596: max. Vout

Part Number: TPS2596

Tool/software:

The max. operating of VOUT is VIN + 0.3V.

When VIN = 5V, the VOUT,max will be 5.3V, right? Is 0.3V voltage dropout from 2A output current, on-Resistance at 125degree temperature? How to get max value of +0.3V?

Please help to clarify it. thanks.

  • Hi Brian,

You won't get Vout = Vin + 0.3V.  During normal operation, you will get Vout = Vin - Ron*Iload. This is limit spec and just mean in any operating condition or system use case, do not design such that Vout -Vin > 0.3V.
