TPS709: TPS70933DRVR - Different leadframes across DC2251 and DC23/24

Part Number: TPS709

Tool/software:

Hi Team

We have secured this part and realized differences in lead frames for DC2251 and DC23/24.

Can we confirm if such difference in lead frame is deemed normal and does not affect the fit, form and function of the parts? Thanks in advance!

  • Calvin,

Yes, this should not affect the fit, form or function. A PCN should have been received for such a change.

    Regards,

    Prakash L

  • Hi Prakash

Thanks for the update! Think you are referring to PCN ( 20240319000.1 ) right?

We are also noted that there are observations on wire bent and epoxy overflow for DC that was with different lead frames (DC2424/2431).

Can we confirm if such observations are deemed normal as well and does not affect the fit, form and function of the parts?

  • Calvin,

I am checking with our Packaging and AT team to get back to me on this. Will respond after I hear back.

    Thanks,

    Prakash L

  • Calvin,

Please see response from our AT site.

For the Wire concern, kindly help verify the following:

    1. That the unit encircled(left unit) has the same LTC as the unit beside it.
    2. That the unit encircled(left unit) was subjected to xray of same Top view side by side. If the left unit view is tilted, it will show different result(which is as below in left)

If the xray is of same top view for both units, then there is abnormality (sway wire as observed)

Recommendation is to perform side by side Top view xray to verify. If still the same sway wire after top view xray, then recommendation is to perform 3D Xray to confirm clearance between Wire to Die.

    Thanks,

    Prakash L
