For the LP2992 (specific part being used is LP2992IM5-3.3/NOPBCT-ND), the datasheet specifies that an output capacitor with low ESR is required, but there are no specific limits specified.
Would Samsung CL21A106KOQNNNG be acceptable to ensure regulator stability over a product's life of several decades? It satisfies the recommendation given in the datasheet that the capacitor should be >=2.2uF, ceramic, and X5R. According to Samsung, ESR is always below 10 Ohms through 10 GHz.
