BQ79612-Q1: Connection of CB Pins When Passive Balancing is Not Used in BQ79612PAPRQ1

If the passive balancing in BQ79612PAPRQ1 is not used, should the CB pins to be connected to BAT pin or left unconnected?

    Hello Manjunath,

    If you don't want to use the CB pins, they can be left floating. However, this is not typically our recommendation. 

    Even though the CB pins are used for cell balancing (Hence the name), they are also used as a redundant path to measuring the cells. 

    This redundancy is in place for us to run diagnostics and make sure there are no issues with references or to verify we have good accuracy.

    I recommend still following the datasheet recommendations for the CB pins.
