BQ24610:POWER PATH function

Part Number: BQ24610

Tool/software:

We intend to use the POWER PATH function of the BQ24610 as a power mux, as shown in the diagram.

1. What is the maximum current (in amps) that can be supplied by the POWER PATH function of the BQ24610?

2. Is there any issue with providing stable current to the load when the circuit is designed as shown in the diagram?

3. If there are any issues, could you recommend a power mux IC that can replace the POWER PATH function of the BQ24610?"

Thank you for your help.

  • Hello SUNGMIN,

    1. What is the maximum current (in amps) that can be supplied by the POWER PATH function of the BQ24610?

We typically recommend a max adapter current of 10A. According to you block diagram, the max current that you are using is around  8A. So I see no obvious issue with your adapter current.

    2. Is there any issue with providing stable current to the load when the circuit is designed as shown in the diagram?

    I see no obvious issue.

    Best Regards,

    Christian.
