TPS61500: Calculations review

Part Number: TPS61500

Tool/software:

Hello Support team,

I am going to design backlight driver for 14.5-inch display to supply current to WLED Backlight consists of 5 strings with 8 LEDs for each string.

The backlight has common anode and common cathode connection, so I believe current matching between he strings is not critical.

General specifications:

Input: 3.3V

Output: 24.8V 180mA

Maximum ambient temperature: 70 ~ 75C

I checked many SOT-23-6 LED drives, but when I check the switching current, maximum operating temperate, thermal resistance of package, I believe I will face a problem at high temperature (let's say 70 C).

However, I found this TPS61500, Is it suitable for multi strings backlight? could you please check the attached calculations file and comment accordingly? If you have better options, please share with me!

Driver: TPS61500PWPR from Texas Instruments.

Inductor: SRN8040TA-150M from Bourns Inc.

Diode: SDT3A45SA-13 from Diodes Incorporated.

FB resistor: RT1206BRD071RL from YAGEO.

Thank you,

Malek
