UCC27624-Q1: UCC27624-Q1

Part Number: UCC27624-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi Team,

I am using UCC27624QDRQ1 in one of our design.

In the reference EVK design of UCC27624QDRQ1 they have used 1.8nF capacitor and a Schottky diode at the gate side. May I know for what purpose these capacitor and diode are used. Attached the image for your reference.

In the datasheet, in typical application, there is a resistor Rgs . Is it a pull down resistor or for any other purpose it is used?

Regards,

Ashwini M S

  • Hey Ashwini,

Thank you for reaching out to TI with your questions regarding the UCC27624-Q1.

On the EVM, the capacitors on the outputs (C6 and C7) are used as load capacitors. This is due to this being an EVM and not a powertrain were the MOSFETs are the load. These are needed as datasheet parameters like rise/fall times and propagation delays are performed with a 1800nF load. This is a gate-source capacitance. The diode is in place as a turn off diode, so the resistors (R3 & R4 or R5 & R6) can be adjusted to control rise and fall time independently.

For the typical application diagram, you are correct, that is a pull down resistor on the gate-source of the MOSFET.

    Thank you,

    William Moore
