Hi team,

Could you help recommend following parts to meet customer requirement?

-With Soft start control pin, could limit slew rate to 0.5V/ms

-Output current 500mA

-Input 5V

-Output 1 request 3.3V; another request 1.8V

Please help check if we get suitable to meet requirement.

    Hello Will,

    Based on requirements listed, I'd recommend TPS7A90 which is a 500mA LDO that can support a 3.3V or 1.8V regulation with soft-start control pin. The output ramp rate to limit in-rush current can be set with a noise-reduction capacitor. 

    For the 1.8V request, please take inconsideration the power dissipation. Is 500mA the maximum current or nominal current? The power dissipation (Pd) at 500mA when regulating from 5V to 1.8V is 1.6W. Which Pd determines the max allowable Ta of the device. For this case Ta_max = 33.96°C, which is calculated using the thermal resistance specified on the DS determined by JEDEC standard.
