TPS62410: Conducted emission issue switching regulator.

Part Number: TPS62410

Tool/software:

  • Hello Rishav,

thanks for reaching out in E2E and providing the schematic and layout.

The layout is an important aspect not only for achieving the specified performance but also for EMI optimization.

The GND paths of the input and output capacitors are critical for filter performance. A top layer GND star topology, centralized under the thermal pad of the TPSTPS62410 is the recommended solution. Please refer to the Layout Guidelines and Layout Example in section 10 of the datasheet for more details.

If possible, a decoupling cap (~1nF) in 0402 case size can be added to the input and placed as close as possible to IC VIN and GND pins.

A damped second stage LC filter (using ferrite bead) can be added at the input and output to localize the switching noise. Please refer to this application note for more details: "Using the Filters with the DC/DC Step-Down Converter".

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Best regards,

    Andreas.
