LM5171-Q1: LM5171-Q1

Part Number: LM5171-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi,

I am using LM5171-Q1 device for 2 phase bidirectional boost converter design.

In LM5171-Q1 Datasheet, its only providing the voltage loop compensation reference for Buck mode, as per understanding the voltage loop compensation will be different for Buck and Boost. Can you able to share some calculation reference for Boost mode voltage loop compensation for LM5171-Q1 controller.

Thanks, and Regards

Rayees

  • Hi Rayees,

You are right, the voltage loop of buck and boost are independent. But the compensation structure is the same. The difference lies in the power stage transfer function.

You may also use the design calculator for compensation.

  • Hi Feng,

Thank you for your reply. I have used the calculator, but i want to know what the difference in the equations for calculating the voltage loop compensation components for Boost compared to Buck,

The individual parameter like fcv, Kdc_Bk, Wz_vl, Wz_il and Kiset i have considered for Boost differently as per the TI datasheet, can i use the same above equations to calculate the Boost voltage compensation components by considering the parameter change wrt to Boost. TI calculator not providing any equations for calculation, i need to verify my calculations.
