TL431LI: Accuracy in different Ik condition

Part Number: TL431LI
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TL431

Tool/software:

Hi team,

To compare the accuracy with TL431LI with NJM431, Ik is different in condition (10mA vs 1mA). Does it make difference on accuracy? How can TI prove TL431LIAI is better than NJM431?

Best regards,

Hayashi

  • Our team will respond shortly. Thank you.

  • Hi Hayashi,

What is the maximum operating cathode current expected for this device? The reason I ask is because the NJM431 cathode current is capable of 100mA(max) and the TL431LI cathode current is capable of 15mA(max). Our TL431 however can match this 100mA cathode current. I just want to help ensure we select the best device possible for your system.

The cathode current itself will have no impact to the accuracy, but an increase in current will lead to increased temperature change of the device and therefore need to consider the deviation of reference input voltage over full temperature range. However, even when factoring this temperature range in the TL431LIAI will still have improved performance.

We would be more than happy to support a sample order so that you may test the performance capabilities yourself.

    Thanks,
    Joshua
