Hi

I am evaluating the EVB(TPS61033EVM-105).
I set the Out Voltage and Out Current limit of DC Power Supply as below.
The EVB load is 62.5ohms(80mA).
I think the out power of the DC power Supply(when setting 150mA) has already exceeded the power that need 0.45W.
The efficiency is about 88%.
But the EVB can normal output 5V 80mA until setting the the Out Voltage and Out Current limit of DC Power Supply to 5V 300mA or 4.25V 300mA.
Could you tell me why?

Hi Chunli,

It looks like caused by start-up current of TPS61033, please refer to the Enable and Soft Start section in datasheet.

The input current when startup can be higher than 150mA although the input current in steady state is very small.

I referenced Figure 7-5. Pre-charge Current vs Output Voltage,

does it mean if it want to output the corresponding voltage,it must precharge the corresponding current?

Do you have any other part number IC without precharge current or so large current?

Yes, correct.

You could try with TPS612994, the startup current is smaller than TPS61033.
