Hi,

I am designing a 4-phase buck converter using LM25143-Q1 and below are the major specifications.

Input 12V to 15V, and Output set with maximum Duty 12V. Output current 120A, its used to charge the super capacitor.

My doubt is i am using a high value almost 200F super capacitor at the output of Buck converter, then is there any other capacitor required in the output.

Hi Rayees,

You will need a constant current (CC) circuit to charge the supercap. Basically a shunt with an INA or or amplifier that adjusts the FB of the LM25143 as needed.

Note we have the LM5190-Q1 with CC-CV functionality built in.

LM5190-Q1 is having only 1 channel, It requires 4 controller for 4 phase operation. How to implement CC in LM25143. Can you share some reference schematic.

LM5190-Q1 was just to provide an example of CC-CV.
