LM5163H-Q1: LM5163-Q1 Bootstrap capacitor value

Part Number: LM5163H-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5163-Q1

Tool/software:

Hello,

I am using the LM5163-Q1 Buck converter in my Motor control unit to generate +12V power supply from 48V input. It is mentioned in the Datasheet that "the value of the Bootstrap capacitor should not exceed 2.2nF. Selecting a higher value capacitance will stress the internal VCC regulator and also damage the device".

But what will happen if I use a large value capacitance, for eg. 10nF, will the damage be over a period of time or will be an immediate effect?

Thank you!
