LM317: Could LM317KTTR stand with -40~15 degree C environment condition?

My customer is seeking for 35V vin, 1.5A output LDO, LM317KTTR may meet these requirement, but their environment temp range is -40~15 degree C? could LM317KTTR may be able to support this case?

if any other TO-263 package devices may support this application?

dear Hannah,

I understand that the operates from 0 to 125 deg C from the datasheet, and i could not find 35V vin, 1.5A output, temp range is -40~125 degree C LDO from the selection list. Do we have any new devices which will RTM soon to support this requirement?

I have a question, even most of the PE level power devices, they can stand up with temp range is -40~15 degree C working temp, but why >=1.5A LDO can only support low temp down to 0 degree C?

Hi Andrew,

Devices with this temperature range are not likely to release until 2026. The reason behind the temperature rating is because the device was engineered for this temperature purpose. This is an older device, so a larger temperature spectrum was not necessarily needed previously. This is also what we validate the parts to. We cannot guarantee temperature outside of this range will not harm the device.
