Part Number: UCC27282-Q1

Tool/software:

We like to suggest the diode average current be limited to under 80mA.

You are saying that the average current of the diode should be less than 80mA. Ok, but what is the maximum peak current of this diode. If we use this driver at 15V Vdd and switching frequency is 100 khz. And if this switching frequency is 20 KHZ. Please provide the solution

  • Hi Naresh,

We do not have a specification for the maximum peak current. However, the average current is the important specification when working with switching applications. The average current can be found by multiplying the switching frequency with the total gate charge of the device that's being driven, and it should remain under 80mA.

    Thanks,
    Rubas

  • Hi Rubas,

Right now you don't have any specification for maximum peak current. However, you should provide the peak current because we are charging the bootstrap capacitor through this diode and there is no resistance in between except the dynamic resistance of the diode. So you should provide the peak current. We need this parameter. Other manufacturers also provide this current.

  • Hi Naresh,

I was just made aware that your FAE, Vikas Chola, is handling this case with my colleague via email. Please reach out to Vikas for any updates.

I will be closing this E2E thread since this is already handled through email.

    Thanks,
    Rubas
