TPS628503-Q1: [Bosch] efficacy question

My customer Bosch have a question about TPS628503-Q1 in J6E project.

During the test, they found that the efficiency is a little worse than that indicated in the datasheet. Can you confirm whether it is reasonable? Can you replicate this phenomenon?

Test environment: Vin=3.3V Vout=0.8V Iout=1.6A FPWM mode Temp=25℃
Efficiency test result: 65%

When Vout is 0.6V in the datasheet, the output current of 1.6A corresponds to an efficiency of about 77%,

They are using their board. I also applied for EVMs for their measurements but EVMs on the way. It would be helpful if you could share some comments. Thanks!

Hello,

In that case, I would expect a difference in the efficiency values compared to the d/s.

The major heat sources are the IC and the inductor. The PCB layout plays a major role in dissipating this heat from the IC and therefore influences the efficiency. Also, I would choose a lower DCR inductor to minimize the losses due to the inductor.

Also, please ensure you have a reliable measurement setup.
