LP55231: Register values on reset

Part Number: LP55231

Tool/software:

Hi,

We are planning to use this Led driver in our device.

One of the main concerns in led state on power ON system. We are using a Linux based processor to talk to the driver. The boot up time for that would be around 45secs.

We want to make sure the led are turned ON within 1secs of powering up the device.

I was hoping we should be able to store values in the registers in this driver and after MPU boot up it will take over Communication.

Can there be some default values hard coded in this driver registers? How to turn on the LEDs within 1sec of system power on before the MPU completely wakes up?

Thank you,

Bhavya

  • Can someone please suggest appropriate LED driver for a use case:

The LEDs should turn ON by default on Reset

If possible there should be Auto Breathe feature on reset ex. fade in / fade out.

    Current Iout per LED >35-40mA

  • Hi Bhavya,

Sorry for late reply since I am OoO yesterday.

How many channels do you need since I noticed that the topic is linked to LP55231, so do you need 9 channels?

Actually, we have a new device expected to be RTM in 1Q2025 and it's sample now. This device has a STAT pin to light one LED in breathing effect once the power in on. I think it can completely meet your requirements. But this device only has 3 channel for RGB LED.

So can you please tell me how many channel do you need, then I can help to find a solution for you. Btw, if possible, please contact me via email (jared-zhou@ti.com) since this device is not RTM so far.

    BR, Jared
