TPS7A39: Only negative voltage needed.

Part Number: TPS7A39

Tool/software:

Hi TI,

I only need negative voltage output. What should I do with OUTP and FPB pins? Can I leave them floating?
Are there any better options than TPS7A39 to provide -0.2V voltage?
TPS72301 is not an option since max output voltage is about -1.2V.

Kind regards,

Thomas

  • Hi Thomas,

Both positive and negative input voltages must be present. As stated in the Sequencing section, there is an internal enable signal which requires both positive and negative UVLO conditions to be met as well as the enable condition for the device to startup.  You may leave OUTP and FPB floating.

I can connect you to someone from our marketing team to help you pick a more appropriate device.

    Best Regards

    Ishaan

  • Hi, Ishaan,

That is what I meant: OUTP and FPB pins. Since negative voltage requires positive reference, INP needs to be supplied.

If you or anyone else knows of any other TI device that would be more suitable, I would be grateful for the information.

    Kind regards,
    Thomas
