CSD19531Q5A: Safe Operating Area

Part Number: CSD19531Q5A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC27282,

Tool/software:

Dear Team,

My customer is considering to use the CSD19531Q5A (100V, 5.3mΩ) for 3-Phase Servo Motor drive application with the UCC27282 (Half-Bridge Gate Driver).

<Requirements>
 - 48VDC 3-Phase Servo Motor Drive Power Stage
 - (UCC27282 + CSD19531Q5A x 2) x 3 phase
 - VIN: 48V
 - Peak current: 20A (at Servo Lock) under PWM On Time=57usec
 - Continuous current: 6.4A
 - fsw: 10.42kHz
 - Dead time between high side to low side: 3.52usec

Datasheet shows "Figure 10. Maximum Safe Operating Area"

In case of servo motor drive, the on time (pulse width) of 57usec is repeated in the 95usec period.
In this case, should the IDS (Drain-to-Source Current) refer to the 57usec pulse width characteristics, although there are only 10us, 100us, 1ms, 10ms and DC only?
Or is it necessary to refer to the DC characteristic curve for repeated pulse width instead of single pulse?

Can the customer use the CSD19531Q5A for this application?

Datasheet shows the absolute maximun ratings and ID (Continuous Drain Current) is 16A.
What is the conditions for that, VDS, pulse width and etc?

Best Regards,

Koshi Ninomiya
