TPS25947: Power Demux?

Part Number: TPS25947
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS2597,

Tool/software:

Hello there,

I wonder if you could provide a suggestion of an IC that performs “power demuxing” ( 1 input, 2 outputs) with some internal logical decision capabilities . For instance, if the input voltage is above a certain threshold, the power goes to output path 1, if the input voltage is below that threshold voltage then the input power goes into output path 2.

T
hanks in advance.

  • Hi Nelson,

Using the UVLO and OVLO threshold, you can set a voltage range in which the eFuse will be on. You can connect both the outputs with eFuse (1 per output) and connect Vin for both eFuse together. This will ensure that depending on the Voltage, only one of them remain on. In this setup, these two eFuses are acting independently but should be able to fulfill you requirement.

Another option is to use EN of first eFuse as OVLO of second and EN so that when first is ON, second will be for sure OFF. Set the UVLO and OVLO resistive divider correctly for this.

TPS25947 is a good eFuse for this. You don't need reverse current blocking for Demux but if your end application requires this, then it is fine. Otherwise you can also look into TPS2597.

    Best Regards,
