TPSM843A26: GOSNS pin suggestion

Part Number: TPSM843A26
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS543B25,

Tool/software:

Hi TIer

My customer are now connecting gosns from the load to a single point of ground, fb follows the recommended layout EVM example.

And in normal , FB need remote connection, Is the customer's current layout ok?

If customer have to modify there were not good traces, the far-end trace were not included on the EVM board too.

Cut the current-carrying area affecting the power supply directly, So could you give us some suggestion? Thank you very much.

  • Are there any tests indicating an issue or need for performance improvement?

Typically, the gosns and fb would both connect remotely to have best dc accuracy on the load.

I have never seen connecting the FB locally and gosns remotely, it is opposite of typical implementations.

If customer wants to adjust the pcb layout,  The TPS543B25 layout example in ds shows a better way

to connect to vosns to gosns to get the accuracy benefit.

EVM has gosns connected remotely and fb too, but there additional test points

and resistor components that are different to trace with the pdf version of the layout.

The TPSM843A26 could have drawn the pcb layout recommendation this way to show the vout and gosns.

The dashed line would be the vout and gosns traces.

If the customer wants to use wires to modify board.  the high side resistor on vout pad can be lifted up and wire to connect remotely for remote sense.    Or the gosns trace can connect to AGND if remote sense not needed.
