Tool/software:
hi,
for LM317SX/NOPB, customer has some inventory and want to prebake but their equipment only supports up to 98℃.
datasheet states 125℃/48h but how long should they bake at 98℃? or is 125℃ a necessary requirement?
regard's,
Ikeno

Hi Ikeno,
Can you point to the place in the datasheet that it says this? I don't believe there is a requirement for baking. How long have they had the devices in storage?
Regards,
Nick
the datasheet is was written in Japanese so added a translation. this condition may be out dated. could you check on this?
storage condition is 5℃~30℃/ below 10%RH,aluminum bag with desiccate placed in McDry shelf since 2023/Nov.
Hi Ikeno,
Thanks for sharing. Since this is an MSL 3 device, it's probably a good idea to bake the devices. I've reached out to the packaging team for baking specifications. I'll get back to you when I hear back.
Regards,
Nick
Hi Ikeno,
The packaging team sent me a copy of the document IPC/JEDEC J-STD-033D (linked to the download - it's free but must register to download), which in Section 4 there is Table 4-1 that has the bake times they are looking for.
Regards,
Nick
