Thanks for working with this. The BQ25756 can BQ25758 are very different devices for different applications. Here's a quick overview.
The BQ25756 is a non-power-path bidirectional battery charger. It can operate in either host-control mode or hardware only mode. The BQ25756 can be set up to charge 1 type of battery really well.
The BQ25758 is a bidirectional DC-DC converter that has to be programmed with I2C. The BQ25758 can be used a general purpose DC-DC converter. The BQ25758 also has CC/CV control and can be used to charge a wide array of different battery types.
Both ICs will work with USB-EPR and can operate as either a source or a sink.
