TPS65131-Q1: A short step voltage in the output waveform

Part Number: TPS65131-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65131

Tool/software:

Dear TI Engineer,

During our testing we found that when the input 3.6V power supply (PERIF_SWR3V6) is boosted by TPS65131 to a 5.5V output (OLED-AVDD5V5), there is a short 3.6V voltage step in the output waveform. The voltage step will last about 0.5ms and then output the normal 5.5V. The waveform is as below:

The schematic is as below:

Can you help confirm if this waveform is normal? And is there any suggestion to improve this issue?

Thanks,

Kind Regards

  • Hi Lumina,

This step is as expected, because AVDD is generated by boost converter, so when power up the device, the input voltage will pass through the inductor and diode to output side first, then the boost converter will ramp up the output voltage to pre-set.
