LM61460-Q1: Questions of PGOOD

Part Number: LM61460-Q1

Tool/software:

Hello TI,

Please kindly help to check the questions about PGOOD of LM61460AASQRJRRQ1 below, thank you.

Q1: In the SNVSB70F datasheet (June 2021, pg. 35), it states that VCC can serve as a pull-up source with a 100kΩ pull-up resistor. In our project, due to an internal pull-down resistor (4.7kΩ) in the MCU, we plan to change the PGOOD pull-up resistor from 100kΩ to 4.7kΩ to meet the MCU’s VIH specification. Could you confirm if using a 4.7kΩ pull-up resistor with VCC as the pull-up source is acceptable?

Q2: Regarding the 100kΩ pull-up resistor, could you advise on the acceptable resistance range? Additionally, are there any other considerations I should be aware of? Thank you.

  • Q1: Hello that seems reasonable. The device would only be sourcing 700u from VCC and sinking the same through PGOOD.

Q2: VCC has a current limit and PGOOD has a sink current limit. The sink current limit on PGOOD would be the limiting factor on pull-up recommendations when PGOOD goes low. VCC/RPU < 10mA.
