BQ27426: In combination with BQ25150

Part Number: BQ27426
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ25150,

Tool/software:

Hi we are developing a wearable device that uses the BQ25150 power management IC and wanted to add a more precise fuel gauge. We selected therefore the BQ27426.

It seems that for safety reasons the BQ25150 should monitor the battery temperature (charging) but is there a reason to let the BQ27426 monitor the battery temperature?

Can both ICs monitor the battery temperature with one thermistor?

Thanks

  • Hello Matthew,

No we would not recommend using one thermistor for both the gauge and charger, this could cause inaccurate temperature readings. We would recommend using one thermistor for the gauge and one thermistor for the charger.

    Regards,

    Adrian
